Historical note: Before May 6, 2026, this site's Local content actually lived in
~/Local Sites/staging-solanocaliforniaforever/(despite the misleading "staging" name). Local IDhw36b0MQCmhas always pointed to the active production Flywheel site — it's just the folder label that was wrong. Old notes referring tostaging-solanocaliforniaforeverare talking about THIS site. See parent README "Historical gotcha" for the full story.
History
- Original: Built by Plumb years ago. Block-based theme.
- Refinements: G&M progressively rebuilt the front-end on plumbweb-child. We kept a backup snapshot of the original Plumb build at
solanostaging.flywheelsites.com(see../solano-archive/). - March-April 2026: Major content + design pass driven by Anders' campaign. Built 3 new ACF blocks (two-col-media, split-feature, feature-grid) for Solano Shipyard. Wired up CTAs across pages.
- April 2026: Internal exploration of replacing this subdomain with a
/solano/path on the main site (seeSOLANO-SUBSECTION-NOTES.md). Anders parked the idea — the subdomain stays. - May 2026: Spanish translation toggle work (active). See
../main-site/Retainer/2026-05-06-spanish-translation-scope.md.

Open / active items
- Spanish translation toggle (Solano) — Implemented locally May 7. Awaiting production push. Two flag-pair toggle (🇺🇸 EN / 🇲🇽 ES) at right end of main nav, served by GTranslate plugin + custom dev mu-plugin. Header + alert bar widened to full viewport with 20px padding. Implementation playbook:
2026-05-07-spanish-toggle-implementation.md. Main CF (californiaforever.com) gets the same component next, different visual placement. Track B (custom AI workflow) still parked. Scope:../main-site/Retainer/2026-05-06-spanish-translation-scope.md. - /solano/ sub-section idea — Parked. Jan endorsed the existing subdomain as the long-term home. Notes in
SOLANO-SUBSECTION-NOTES.md.
