Ree & Jun Kaneko Foundation (reeandjunkanekofoundation.org)
Nonprofit organization stewarding the life and work of artist Jun Kaneko. Manages the collection and archival materials. Separate website from KANEKO (arts center) and junkaneko.com (studio portfolio), but shares staff with the studio — all staff use @junkaneko.com emails.
Disambiguation: This is the foundation, not the arts center (
the-kaneko/) or the artist's studio site (jun-kaneko-studio/). See ../README.md for the full picture.

Project Status
2026-04-28 — Capital campaign microsite scope outline created
Built the pre-quote scope outline. 6-page microsite (Home / The Vision / The Collection Building / Support the Campaign / Contact / Donate) modeled after Brownell Talbot's "Building Together" site. Plus 11 campaign-wide deliverable categories (brand, email, print, direct mail, video, photo, events, signage, social, PR, strategy). Stack is WordPress with a custom theme + ACF field groups bound per page (no Flexible Content modules on this project). Identified the Collection Building as the $35M project per the 4/21 meeting notes. Bruce Carpenter surfaced as a new content contact (working with Troia and Ree on campaign content).
Local MD at CAPITAL-CAMPAIGN-MICROSITE-OUTLINE.md. Google Doc lives in Eric's My Drive root pending placement decision: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CIj52EMX42411M_45a7ybS8DChUOe_6SLV0koh93Tqk/edit
Outstanding for the quote: Sarah/Troia's content doc (project history, sq footage, architect details), microsite URL decision, public launch timing, email platform choice, campaign-specific identity decision.
2026-04-21 — Meeting with Troia & Susan, 2pm CDT (Granola transcript captured)
Meeting between Eric Downs, Kristin DeKay, Brooke Ratliff, Mike DeKay (G&M) and Troia, Susan, Sarah (Foundation/Studio). Scope is two tracks:
Track 1 — Foundation site donation/support updates (quick turnaround): - Replace "Contact" with "Support" in top nav; move contact to footer - Support dropdown with donation options - Multiple payment methods (cards, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Google Pay, ACH, check) — likely via Give Butter third-party - Also bundled: activate News section, Sarah learns CMS, fix broken MailChimp newsletter, update old resume info - Cross-site linking: Foundation ↔ KANEKO ↔ Studio (triangular)
Track 2 — Capital Campaign microsite (larger, separate): - $35M goal. Separate URL / microsite — not integrated into Foundation site - Reference model: Brownell Talbot "Building Together" (Give Campus) - Needs: 3D walkthrough from HDR models, donor recognition wall, progress tracking, FAQ, project history, naming opportunities
Action items: - Eric → website architecture flowchart - Kristin → quote for donation page, target Thursday 2026-04-23 - Sarah/Troia → Google Doc outlining capital campaign pages + content requirements - Foundation team → board committee for capital campaign oversight - Sarah → learn CMS with Troia oversight

2026-04-13 — Susan Schonlau kicked off new fundraising & donation page request
Active email thread: "Ree & Jun Kaneko Foundation website: new fundraising & donation page". Susan (Foundation) opening question to Kristin DeKay. Several rounds of back-and-forth 4/13–4/21 with Susan, Troia, Sarah Jones, and Kristin.
2025-11 — Prior "Foundation website question" thread
Earlier thread "Re: Ree & Jun Kaneko Foundation website question" between Eric and Susan Schonlau (Nov 17–19, 2025). Fwd'd to Eric from Kristin DeKay. Unresolved context for current work.
Status: Quoting phase — fundraising/donation page scope being defined. No active/billable project yet. Local site intentionally not set up; will stand up once quote is accepted.
Incoming: Eric to drop Granola transcript notes from the 2026-04-21 meeting into this folder. Watch for a notes file to land in this directory.
