TL;DR of the Decision
- Client's goal: A fresh-looking website.
- Client's theory: Shopify might be faster/cheaper to build on.
- Our finding: With this volume of content and these integrations, migration overhead (10+ major workstreams) negates any Shopify time savings.
- Bonus angle: Staying on Woo keeps the data layer fully open, which unlocks internal AI tooling like the Slack + LLM interface scoped in
../slack-tool/.
Recommendation: Stay on WordPress. Redesign the theme. Pitch the Slack tool as a value-add that wouldn't be clean to build on Shopify.
