Kaneko — Disambiguation Hub

G&M works with three separate but related Kaneko entities in Omaha. Before acting on any "Kaneko" request, figure out which one this is about and read that sub-folder's README.

The Three Entities

All three are in Omaha, founded/connected to Jun Kaneko (artist) and Ree Kaneko (his wife). Each has its own website, client lead, and scope. G&M works with all three independently — don't assume a request about "Kaneko" applies to all of them.

How to Pick the Right Sub-Folder

Use these cues, in order:

1. URL mentioned? Match the domain: - thekaneko.org → the-kaneko/ - junkaneko.com → jun-kaneko-studio/ - reeandjunkanekofoundation.org → ree-jun-foundation/
2. Email domain? - @thekaneko.org → the-kaneko/ (arts center staff: Kristin Lundgren, Kimberly, Parker) - @junkaneko.com → studio OR foundation — the same staff (Susan, Troia, Sarah) handle both. Read the email subject/body for the actual site. "Ree & Jun Kaneko Foundation website" → ree-jun-foundation/. Studio/portfolio work → jun-kaneko-studio/.
3. Harvest code? Historical codes that mention "Jun Kaneko Studio" (e.g. 2019-098A JKS — "Jun Kaneko Studio & Foundation") → studio + foundation were bundled historically. Plain "Kaneko" codes (2016-103 KAN, 2017-066 KAN2, 2018-030 KAN3, 2025-063) → arts center (thekaneko.org).
4. Still ambiguous? Ask the user. Don't guess.

Shared Context

• All three orgs are based at/near 1111 Jones Street + 1120 Jones Street, Omaha, NE.
• Eric/G&M has a long-running relationship with all three — multiple historical Harvest projects per entity.
• When referring to them in conversation with Eric, use the short names: "the Kaneko" (arts center), "Jun Kaneko studio" (artist site), "the Foundation" (Ree & Jun Kaneko Foundation).

Current Status (2026-04-21)

Project notes initialized on 2026-04-21. Status of each:

• Foundation (reeandjunkanekofoundation.org): Quoting phase — not billable yet. Scoping a new fundraising & donation page. Eric met with Troia & Susan 2026-04-21 at 2pm CDT; Granola transcript from that meeting coming into ree-jun-foundation/. Kristin DeKay (G&M) is the internal coordinator.
• The Kaneko (thekaneko.org): Actively scoping — "KANEKO proposal" thread (Sep 2025 → ongoing) is still alive per Eric (2026-04-21). Not billable yet.
• Jun Kaneko Studio (junkaneko.com): No active website work. Staff (@junkaneko.com) currently focused on Foundation work.

No active Harvest project for any of the three. All three engagements are pre-signing / pre-quote-acceptance.
